During Saturday afternoon and evening, different fun events were provided such as the challenging Barn Yard Games, a very wet and refreshing water balloon fight, and a fierce watermelon seed spitting contest. Both kids and adults had a great time playing and watching the festivities.

The showmanship showdown competition was just that – a great competition. The kids, even with calves being pulled out for the first time, were very confident and capable. The contest was jackpot style with 43 entries. The three age divisions were rewarded with 1st place receiving a bucket and 2nd and 3rd receiving feed pans, all with GCCPA logos on them. The three first place division winners then returned to battle for Supreme and Reserve Supreme Champions.

The winners of the Jackpot Showmanship Showdown were:

Congratulations to Supreme Champion Showman Mitchell McIver who walked away with $215 which was 50% of the pot and to Reserve Supreme Champion Showman Will Bius with a 30% of the pot at $138. Great showing!

There were three divisions of cattle to be sorted through, Continental, British, and the Steer Division, as well as a Supreme and Reserve Supreme heifer selection. After carefully analyzing each one, Mr. Verner made his decisions as follows:

Supreme Heifer and Champion Continental – Hallie Graham
Reserve Supreme Heifer and Reserve Champion Continental – Hannah Bius

Champion British Heifer – Sydney Manley
Reserve Champion British Heifer – Taylor Strickland

Champion Steer – Jared Scott
Reserve Champion Steer – Will Bius
